Our club welcomed and hosted eight ambassadors from Southern New Jersey for a springtime adventure. It was an enjoyable week with visits to waterfalls, the Blue Ridge Parkway and a perennial favorite: Connemara, the Carl Sandburg Home in Flat Rock. Another literary visit was to the Thomas Wolfe Home and Museum in downtown Asheville. The Biltmore Estate was in its glory with gorgeous flowers in bloom! Ambassadors experienced the creative economy of our region by visiting art galleries and studios. No visit to WNC is complete without barbeque and breweries and the week’s activities included those experiences. The farewell dinner was at a beautiful hill-top location, followed by a visit to a downtown Hendersonville hot spot with live music.
For this journey we planned two different evenings with dinner hosts, allowing even more club members to get involved and more interaction to happen over a home cooked meal. A free day was built into the schedule, creating time for more personalized activities. Home hosts, day hosts and dinner hosts once again proved invaluable to the success of an inbound journey.
