The week in Milwaukee provided an opportunity to learn about the historical aspects of the town through several walking tours, where we gained an appreciation of the modern city and lake region. We explored city neighborhoods and nearby small towns. With help from our attentive home hosts, dinner hosts, and day hosts, we saw a large cross section of the city, visited wonderful museums, and widened our knowledge on inland waterway issues at the UWM university research center.
We returned home impressed with the Milwaukee Club’s outstanding week-long program and the amount of time many club members gave to us. Through Friendship Force, we were linked to an area and its people that we never knew before.
