Eight Friendship Force of Western Carolina ambassadors traveled to Spokane, Washington, to spend May 9th to the 15th with the Friendship Force of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Our hosts took us on wonderful trips to visit the Spokane River, which runs right through the city of Spokane, where we saw a series of beautiful cascading waterfalls. We learned about the Spokane River and local geology, the past silver mining in the Coeur d’Alene region as well as nearby Wallace, Idaho, which calls itself the center of the universe. We visited other historical sites, brew pubs and a winery. It was a great week with great hosts.
