The Mongolian Prosecutors came to the US as part of the Open World Congressional from April 8 – 16, 2022 and US State Department Program to help
the Central Asian countries understand and strengthen democracy and its institutions. Friendship Force of Western North Carolina not only had a delightful time with the Open World delegates; we showed them a small part of the US culture and helped them understand their role is more than prosecution. It is to strengthen and maintain a vibrant ethnicity and democracy in Mongolian culture, businesses, and politics.
So, they met and discussed with the following: US Attorney and the Chief Judge of the Western District of North Carolina, Dena King and Martin Reidinger, who conducted a mock trial and extensive follow up conversation. Andrew Murray the DA for Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties, the Chief of the Hendersonville Police, Blair Myhand, Tribal Prosecutor of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians, Shelli Buckner,. Chief of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians, Richard Sneed, Director of the Museum of the Cherokee Indians, Shana Condill, Former Chief of Police of Asheville, Bill Hogan, and the Executive Director of Safelight, Lauren Wilke … and they went shopping!
